Privacy Policy

This policy describes what information Army Body Fat Calculator does and does not collect, in plain language.

The short version

Every calculator runs entirely in your browser. The numbers you enter are never sent to a server, logged, or shared.

No analytics software is installed on this site, and there is no advertising. There are no user accounts on this site. The Analytics section below states exactly what is and is not collected.

How the calculators process information

All calculations — waist-to-height ratios, maximum-waist lookups, retired tape-test percentages, and ABCP target-waist figures — are performed by JavaScript running locally in your browser. Calculator inputs (your age, height, weight, and circumference measurements, and every other value you type) are never transmitted anywhere, never stored, and are gone when you close the page. This matters doubly here: body measurements are personal, and the design of this site means they are never ours to hold, leak, or sell.

Hosting

This site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Like essentially all web hosts, Cloudflare processes technical request logs (such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, and timestamps) to deliver pages, protect against abuse, and operate its service. This site does not receive or store individualized logs of your visit beyond what Cloudflare provides in aggregate.

Analytics

No analytics software is installed on this site, and there is no advertising. If analytics is ever added, this section will describe exactly what is collected before it goes live.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies. The calculators do not use cookies or browser storage — nothing you enter is saved between visits. If analytics or advertising are ever enabled on this site, this section will be updated on the same day to describe the cookies they set (see the sections below).

Advertising (Google AdSense)

When advertising is enabled on this site, Google AdSense may serve ads and set advertising cookies (for example, to personalize ads and measure their performance). Google's use of advertising cookies is described in Google's advertising policy pages. If ads are not enabled, no advertising cookies are set.

The error report form

The error report form does not submit anything to a server. When you use it, your browser prepares a report and opens your own email app with the report addressed to Ian; the copyable fallback panel exists so the report works even when no email app is configured. Anything you send by email is used only to investigate and fix the problem you reported.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page and will describe the site's practices as they then are. Analytics and advertising disclosures are updated on the same day the corresponding tool is enabled on the site.
